About Us

LAW consists of two branches. Our research division investigates cases that may justify the use of defensive political violence in order to stop oppression. Our training centre, called the Legal Defence Academy (LDA), will teach students how to conduct militant operations in a responsible manner. For more information about LDA, see our discussion forum.

LAW is currently a test project, but will be made into a non-profit membership organisation if the debate about self-defence and necessity shows no major arguments against the principles of defensive political violence. LAW will then be registered at The Brønnøysund Register Centre, a government body under the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry.

LAW operates according to Norwegian laws, so membership will be legal.

We don't have any professional barristers at the moment, but we will help activists find lawyers and act as legal consultants during court hearings.

We are looking for academics and other serious volunteers who can assist us in our work. We need your support because it takes time and resources to investigate firms that oppress poor communities abroad. Your help can save lives.

This website is kept simple because many people in so called underdeveloped countries can not afford to buy expensive computers that support fancy web pages, but we will appreciate if you have ideas on how to make it better.

Andreas Winsnes founded LAW in 2006. He is Norwegian, and 40 years old. He has studied religion and philosophy the last 20 years, and has been active in several NGO’s. He has written a book about neo-Nazism, and a thesis about defensive political violence. He has also written a book about native religions, which has been sponsored by The Freedom of Expression Foundation. The foundation is headed by a Supreme Court Judge and a former chairman of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee. Other interests are fashion and design, especially the amazing art of Christian Lacroix and Elie Saab. The world is too cruel without beauty.
